It's a moral failing to let your fear of terrorism lead you down the road to Islamaphobia, or prevent you from speaking up for Muslim children.

We don't need to rehash how over-educated Nigerians are. If you have an advanced degree from a top US university then you met some of these Nigerians. Some Christian, some Muslim.

Boko Haram killed more people than either ISIS or Al Qaeda. Boko Haram literally means "Western Education is forbidden"

Nigeria drove down the violence of Boko Haram without villifying Islam in general, or resorting to ethnic cleansing. They've been down that dark path in the country's history before, and it leads nowhere good.

Nigeria also drove down maritime piracy. It used to have more piracy than Somalia.

The idea that Nigeria's approach to dealing with terrorism might be superior to the US approach, does not compute in the minds of biased people. They assume that the US approach must be better.

Similar to how biased people could not understand how Nigeria was doing better against Covid than the US🤷🏿‍♂️

"Western education" and "Western science" are misnomers. There's no such thing as Western science. There's just science.

Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu was governor of Lagos state during the pandemic🇳🇬. Andre Cuomo was governor of New York state🇺🇸.

Sanwo-Olu made better, science based, policy decisions.

When Italy was the Covid epicenter of the world, with the deadliest strain known, and no one was vaccinated, a fully contagious person with fever could board a plane in Italy, fly to NYC, take the busy airport subway to Times square, then a taxi to a nursing home, without ever being screened by NY.🤦🏿‍♂️

Us self-assured Americans would do this science ignoring nonsense, then wonder out loud why Covid in Nigeria seems to be spreading more slowly than in the US, and is it something genetic about Africans, or are they lying about their numbers, because they can't possibly be doing better than the USA.

By contrast in Nigeria you would have been caught and screened several times before you ever left the airport to travel around inside the country with your germs and your fever.

Because there's no "Western science." There's just science. And either you make public policy decisions based on that science, or you don't. It doesn't matter if those techniques were developed at the CDC in Atlanta, Georgia. It matters if you implement them.
