When Logitech added "AI" stuff to their driver software I bought an Elecom Bitra Trackball.
I wish I had bought two or three. They don't make them anymore and seriously it's one of the best pointing devices I have ever used.
And even though the Bitra has the huge flaw of draining batteries super fast it is even so an amazing trackball. So much so, that I'm considering not using traditional mice anymore.
There's this new guy... Almost every week he says something about being in a tight spot. Not work wise, money wise.
I'm pretty sure someone told him The Golden Rules of Friendship already, and I don't care to remind him before he tries to ask for money directly (a no-no)
He doesn't know that sooner or later they will ask me if I think he should continue at the co. And my mother told me that if I don't have anything good to say I should stay silent.
Me: Why am I so hungry!? Always so hungry, this is why I'm so darned fat!
(My subconscious: Thordammit, you didn't have breakfast!)
Me: Wonder when they'll come up with an artificial stomach that never makes me hungry and is super efficient at converting and dispensing food energy...
Kinda sad that The Peripheral never got a second season.
Now that I have a decent computer, I wonder... Since I own a digital copy of the Shadow of the Colossus Remaster... Can I legally play it under emulation?
Just how big is that can of worms? I guess SCEA doesn't like that very much, right?

The problem is not sourcing or buying this particular part. I have already solved that.
The problem is the larger one of capitalism's influence on how, why, where you can buy things (specially for a colony which includes a captive market).
Any things, not just a handle.
It's great if you can say, "I don't buy from Amazon" but that is not a feasible thing to do for everyone. That is my point.
Freezer door handle has planned obsolescence feature. It's a metal handle but has plastic end caps. Both end caps broke.
Original part price is (whole handle, manufacturer does not sell just the end caps!) $60
Part is not available locally in the island. I'll expand on this later.
There are a couple "American" online stores that carry the part. None of them ship to Puerto Rico.
Who does ship? Amazon.
Price of the part? $120 but hey free shipping, and it'll get here in 2 weeks. yay!
I haven't purged it completely, but I am watching a lot less YouTube these days.

In the past, I often wondered how much better off I would be now, if I had accepted any of the many offers and opportunities I've had to move to the states.
These days, I think, I made the right decision to stay where I am. No amount of money is worth whatever is happening over there. Which sounds like confirmation bias on my part but I don't care if it is indeed.
15+ years ago I was in Florida with a girlfriend. Her cousin drove us around. Girlfriend says to cousin, "My boyfriend is also a programmer."
Cousin asks, and I tell him, what I do: back-end, database, front-end, integrations, reports, etc.
I ask cousin back, "Nothing that complicated, I'm just the webmaster of our company. Most days I do nothing except monitor the website is up."
His salary was the exact same as mine.

Very important. You get 2 pasteles en la "yunta"... You have to eat one with ketchup (or pique) and the other one without ketchup. Doesn't matter which one first. You have to eat both (unless you want bad luck). Also the bestest mothers (but no restaurants) will have: "blind" pasteles which are almost vegan, and rice pasteles.
Quiero pasteles, y está chevere porque por ahí llegan las navidades...

Remember when gaming magazines in the 90s(?) asked if games where too long?. I don't remember why it was an issue then.
But instead of charging $50, $60, $80 dollars for a 40 hour videogame. I think I would much prefer to get a 10-12 hour videogame for $20
Not because games shouldn't cost $60, but because I would like to play shorter games where I get the full experience of both, game and story, in a shorter amount of time so I can move on to another developer's game.
