@ajroach42 I've liked all of the cars with a manual transmission: '85 200SX, '89 Celica, '04 350Z, '08 Saab 9-3, and now a new Bronco. The Saab is the one that surprised me by how much I liked it; it was just really cheap and in great garage-kept condition, but it turned out to be so much fun, and I wish they still made them. I hated to sell it.
If I have to narrow it down, it's gotta be my first car (the '85 200SX). Also in agreement with the pop-up headlights comment. Pop-up headlights=cool.

@CedarTea @pluralistic I used Mosquito Dunks in six buckets all around my yard this summer, and saw a notable drop in mosquitoes within a week or two. I know there's a bunch of science that says it works, too, which is why I tried it. But, I was surprised it worked well enough to be noticeable.

@InternetEh so far, it's mostly been prosecutorial overreach, I think. If you charge felony assault for a thrown sandwich, a reasonable jury can dismiss that as a ridiculous assertion without having to decide the crime was committed but shouldn't result in a conviction. I'd guess the jury didn't believe there was intent to harm, even if they agreed a sandwich was thrown. But, we're probably going to need some nullification, too, before all is done.

@genehack I looked up the specs, the '69 Caprice is 18 feet long. The Tercel was 13.4 feet. My current four-door Bronco is 16 feet, and it's a quite large vehicle.
@genehack but, yes, I think it's actually a pretty hot looking car in a Starsky and Hutch, The French Connection, Gone in 60 Seconds kind of way. But, they really don't do turns well.
@genehack it's a strikingly large vehicle. My dad bought a 1982 Tercel four-door when we still had the Caprice, and the Caprice absolutely dwarfed it when they were parked side by side.
My mom still likes to tell the story of the time a school bus collided with her and had contact with the car through the full length of the bus. She got out to look at the damage and the entire side of the bus was dented, lights busted out, etc. and there was a tiny smudge on the bumper of the Caprice.
@scuttlebutt all of the release valves that would allow this to resolve peacefully and reasonably are being closed off by literal armies in the streets, a Supreme Court that serves Trump, and a ruling party that worships death and suffering. I'm reading about Republicans choosing to starve children even when Democrats offer them an absurdly generous compromise (because of course Schumer gives an inch and then a mile, without hesitation), Elon Musk (who is directly responsible for 600,000 deaths, mostly children) getting a trillion dollar pay package, ChatGPT and Grok talking children into suicide, social media algorithms elevating dehumanization.
