Yet again I will point out that because "enterprise web development" is cargo-culting these days, a single website might rely on multiple gigantic "cloud" providers at the same time.
We know these exist because when Azure was down, some were blaming CloudFlare. 🤡
There are only so many of these gigantic providers. So if a website relies on CloudFlare, AWS, and Azure simultaneously, over the last month it would have been dead in the water on three different occasions, for hours on end. 👀

@oblomov @bbacc sì sì, @elvecio lo ribadisce spesso :D io ammetto di aver avuto problemi un po' con quelle che ho visto (Lemmy perché derivativo di Reddit, Friendica perché troppo parente di Facebook ecc.), NodeBB a pelle è quello che mi ha intrippato di più ma l'ho visto poco
ma aldilà del mio gusto, torniamo al problema: Mastodon si è pappato tutta la torta o quasi, quindi detta un po' la linea al netto di realtà alternative che possono essere interessanti ma poco utilizzate

@Xabacadabra @bbacc peraltro, Friendica ad esempio è anche piú vecchio di Mastodon, ma ha avuto meno successo. Perché? Perché forse, almeno in un certo periodo, alla gente è piaciuto piú il formato Twitter? È sempre difficile capire i motivi dietro questi spostamenti di persone: anche i social commerciali hanno subito queste fasi (prima tutti su MySpace, poi tutti su Facebook, etc). Almeno qui dall'una all'altra grosso modo si interagisce comunque, pur con i limiti del caso.

@Xabacadabra @bbacc anche sulla questione “spazi” possiamo discutere, se vuoi: il problema del “context collapse” è un noto problema della roba “alla Twitter” in cui l'interazione è basato sulle persone invece del contesto, e solo parzialmente risolta dalle istanze “tematiche” (che a volte invece creano problemi), ma esistono anche, sempre sul Fediverso, piattaforme come Lemmy, mbin, piefed o lo stesso Friendica che la separazione contestuale ce l'hanno.
