"I'm a programmer with a Fediverse account.@rperezrosario I assumed programmer+fediverse=Linux, because that's my feed. But, also, over the three+decades I've been working in tech, I've seen more and more devs being Linux first devs, to the point where the company I work for now has been almost entirely Linux users among the dev team. I don't keep close tabs on everyone, but when it comes up, it's more Linux than anything else, with MacOS second. Everything cloud and web is Linux native, so it's all easier on Linux.

Honestly can't figure out why everyone isn't using Linux at this point.@DrJLecter I'm not suggesting installing Windows or Linux for everyone! I'm saying Windows has a leg up in your use case because your computer already had Windows (or Mac OS) installed. Having it already done for you by your PC maker is infinitely easier than having to do it yourself.
There are vendors that preinstall Linux, so you (and my mom and mail carrier) don't have to.

Honestly can't figure out why everyone isn't using Linux at this point.@DrJLecter so, installing Linux was difficult, but have you ever had to perform a fresh install Windows or Mac OS? Having installed Windows and Linux hundreds of times, I'd argue it's quite a lot easier to install a good Linux distribution (Ubuntu is not my favorite, but it's Good Enough) than Windows on a new PC, but you never see that because 90% of new PCs sold have Windows preinstalled.
There are systems builders that preinstall Linux, for what it's worth.

TO ALL THE #NoKings NAYSAYERS'nthere’s always folks like you who crave the negative attention.@blogdiva protests are where people who want change meet other people who want change. Even if they do nothing else, that's enough reason to go.

Going down to the incel recruiters office (Tesla dealership) to enlist (buy a Cybertruck).I once bought a nine year old Saab for $4200. Every woman I knew loved it, thought it was the cutest thing (it was! Saabs were great!).
Imagine being a person who allegedly likes women spending $73,000 for a vehicle women loathe, and that is also uniquely bad at its ostensible purpose of "being a truck".

"I'm a programmer with a Fediverse account.@rperezrosario It's the year of Windows on the Fediverse, I guess. That's wildly more Windows (and MacOS) than I expected.

"When I die, I will come in fast and low."When I die, I will come in fast and low. I will stick the landing. There will be no confusion. The dead will make room for me." Richard Siken
I read this somewhere online and somehow I felt like it was something I'd read decades ago, always knew how it went. But it's new. Published this year in "I Do Know Some Things". That's really something.

Big drama today between organizers of two local No Kings protests.@jalefkowit there are ten (10!) scheduled for the DFW metro area alone. I suspect some of those will be tiny, though. I would think most folks in the area who are interested will make their way to the downtown Dallas or Fort Worth or Arlington events. It's less than a 30 minute drive from any of those other cities to one of the big ones.
